Guys, I'm buying 285 x 75 x 16 tires.

Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2 or the Pirrelli Scorpion ATR? Thoughts? Pics of either?

I haven't bought anything other than Bridgestone for at least a decade now but I saw a Scorpion on an LC FJ100. Looked gorgeous.

Got pics of the no chrome? I'm de-badging the rear (Losing the flying 'L', the 'V8', the 'Lexus', and the 'LX470') but haven't decided what to do about the front grill. Was thinking of painting the grill soft matte black or something (i'm not a fan of what others are doing with the all chrome look).

Ideas anyone? Pics help.

you'll need to keep the L on the back as there are holes. Look at my truck on mud.

Since you have the older front grille, you could just trim out the chrome and paint it black, or wrap it in vinyl. I've done both.

Here's my truck before I went nuts and rhinolined the grille and removed the cladding.

Looking at your links now but one thing comes to mind about de-badging! SERIOUS BUMMER! The only badge that HAS to go is the Flying L. I'd rather lose it and the V8 badge and keep the Lexus and LX470 markings if something had to stay. I'll have to figure out a new plan with that ... starts with looking at your grey (is that thing topaz?) and white trucks.

Ok so after seeing your pics... the area you're painting semigloss black on the front grill, I was thinking of body matching. And the part your color matching to the body I was thinking of doing in a semi-flat/gloss black. Basically reverse your grill's color scheme.

The rear is a crisis for me. The Flying L has to go. Has to. It's too close to the window, making it look misplaced. Might be able to color match it or something so it's less noticable.

The reason on my trucks the grille is matched on the inside and the black is on the outer trim is because it's hard to get a perfect paint patch, and the two colors on top of eachother would clearly show. Plus then it matches the back, with just the chrome blacked out and the area around the license plate still body color.

So after a couple of years now....how are the Revos holding up? I am in the market for my '06 and am considering the Revo 2s .

I am not so much concerned with the durability (i.e. most miles on a tire) since I will be putting on less than 5k miles per year, So my priorities are as follows and in order of importance:

1. Noise
2. wet, dry, snow traction
3. handling on rode
4 handling off road
5. and finally mileage

I drive almost exclusively on road (Chicago) but would like to have the option of going on fire roads and of course the Chicago winters.

For what your looking for , the stock Michelin LTX M/S cant be beat. Duratrak's if you want something more aggressive for the occational off roading.
