iPod Adapter- 07 LX470 (Vais vs USA Spec)
Just wanted to share some information regarding iPod adapters for the LX470.
A couple of weeks ago i had installed the USA Spec 20-Toyo adapter. It was about $200, but had some limitations
- didn't show playlist information
- didn't have a FWD and REV button to scan while listening to a track
- could only play from 6 playlists total on the iPod
Today, took out the USA Spec, returned it, and installed the VAIS SOUNDLINQ 2 SL2Vi. Price was higher at $349, but it does give me all of the options i was originally thinking the USA Spec would give me, AND MORE! FYI, if you purchase the VAIS, and have the Mark Levinson DVD/CD player in your center console, make sure you have "Package 4" with the VAIS order.
- Full ipod integration
- Playlist and Song title text information
- Automatically bypasses the I AGREE window when starting the truck
- does play video and photos on the navi screen
- fully compatible with the iPods, and hopefully the iPad.
I am sorry i didn't do better homework the first time, i would have not purchased the USA Spec
Hope this can help somebody else.

I was wondering about the PA20TOY, from what you I got out of your post you cannot control the next/previous from the dash or the steering wheel? Also, is it true that the connect for the ipod would just be by making an adjustment to the CD changer in the center console and you don't have to open up the dash at all?

Hydrolex,
1. With the PA20TOY, YES you can control the next/previous from the steering wheel.
2. You don't have to open the entire dash, just remove the head unit, UNLESS you want to fish your connector cable into your center armrest console. In my 07, the Navi screen and the lower Audio control unit needed to be removed.

Thanks for the help, I guess I'm just looking for the least invasive way to get my ipod flowing through my LX but I don't want to screw anything up. I just got my '07 LX two weeks ago so I'm still on that new car feeling and don't want to mess with anything too much
