Need an OEM OR SWINGOUT Spare carrier 2000 LX 470
Hello everyone,
I'm a newbie & this is my FIRST post. I have a 2000 LX 470, & the spare fell off! :-{ I'd like to get a proper UNDERSIDE CARRIER replacement, @ a decent price. Can you tell me: 1) does 2000 LandCruiser spare carrier match? 2) what is part# for 470 carrier? 3)Where do I get these parts? 4) is there a HUGE difference in price with aftermarket "swingout" 470 spare carriers? I may need swingout for convenience; hard enough to chg. a flat in stillettos!
Thanx in advance,
ToothFairy

I think all we can get in terms of swing-out tire carriers in this country are entire replacement rear bumper/tire carriers. I have the kaymar dual pivot. The ones sold in this country are the Kaymar, TJM, and ARB bumpers from Australia, and the Slee from CO.

If you plan to rock crawl, the slee has the lowest profile, but OEM rear mudflaps won't fit. The Australian bumpers will fit w/ the OEM mud flaps. The kaymar has full steel valances while the TJM (lightest of the 4) has some plastic on the top of the side valences. I got the Kaymar...

Thanx for your response Jim!!
That's good info. If you know where I can get one that goes UNDER the car instead of outside / on back please let me know. I KNOW... I did say it was hard changing a flat w/ stilletos, but I have roadside service.... so I PROBABLY / HOPEFULLY won't be changing it myself.
