Right at the 15,000 miles mark and just had it serviced.
Good thing too, as two days before our appointment, the AHC started going wacko and would not raise or lower on command, at times looking like a monster truck and resembling a low rider at other times - needless to say not very comfortable at ALL times.
Traced the problem to a corroded height sensor in the right rear and was replaced under warranty.

Just wondering if I should test mine every once in awhile?

1998 LX 470 with 167k still running like new and everything works. I use mobil 1 every 7500 to 9k miles and change the other fluids every 30 to 40k miles. O2 Sensors, battery, timing belt/H20 pump, tire and brakes have been the only mechanical items that have needed replacing. The quality of this vehicle is 2nd to none and people who ride in my truck are shocked when I tell them the mileage I have on it. My co-worker has the identical year and color as my Lexus and has 230k with the same reliability. Also my neighbor has a 99 Tundra with the same 4.7 engine and has 326k miles on original engine and tranny and he uses it daily for long work related trips. So to all those with under 100k miles expect many more years of great service from your 470 it is one well built machine.

Just changed oil today, 105,313 currently. Change the oil every 5k and the others at 30k. Putting in new plugs this weekend (hope thats easy). Haven't done thm since I have owned it. Have all service records since new from original owner. He kept it nice until 85k when I bought it.

I keep a log book in each car and log all maintenance, problems, custom wiring, etc. But since I have 3 cars to maintain and run synthetics in all of them, sometimes I go many months or even a year between fluid changes or tire rotations and find myself having to flip through pages to figure out the last time the service was done.
My solution is to run an excel spreadsheet w/ a sheet on each vehicle, mileage column, columns for each type of service/date. I then check those off and color code them for the brand/weight of oil, etc. Now, I can see immediately when the last service was done.

Dude, have you been diagnosed with OCD? j/k I wish I had the time to do it that way. I just do it every 5k, its easy that way. By the way, how hard is it to change the spark plugs?

Here's something that I ran across. Talk about mileage.

LX470 mileage
My 2000 LX470 just flipped 187,000 miles this weekend. I bought it from the original owner (he traded it for another 2000 LX with 60K on it) in February with 181K, and promptly removed the ORIGINAL timing belt and spark plugs. No oil leaks anywhere, drives as good as one with half the miles. I hope to report to this group the day it crosses the 300K mark.
