Chrome grill
#47
Okay, So I think I'm going to attempt this today but had 1 question, when i spray that stuff on, will it effect the already chrome parts on the grill? Or does it matter? Should I try to keep away from sprayin that stuff on the chrome? And what is the last step for the paint thinner for?
GOOOD question. What keeps it from only eating up certain stuff?

uhm, no idea. But my grille didnt get chewed up by the citristrip stuff. The chrome and plastic dont get desolved by the stuff, only the paint. Make sure you take the grille off the car. Joe, check this out https://www.clublexus.com/gallery/sh...y.php?cat=3849 for some more detailed pictures.
here is it on a silver GS

unless your steering wheel has a wood that better matchs my dash trim then no. I like my wood...it prevents my wheel from wearing out like you lesser leather people. LoL.
Yeah that comparison picture i took REALLY shows the difference. So are you going to do this mod next weekend?

I want to take the grill and make it black, where is the stuff to do that?? I like the chrome, may give it a try this weekend. Hopefully I will be selling the grill guard first so I can see the shiny little guy. I hope to get a qoute on the paint tomorrow. We will see how it goes. (that even has to compete with having the 19s installed.. its my only weekday off )
Either way, the chrome grill seems to be a cost effective great looking mod.

DIY Chrome Grille
Works like a charm...w/a lot of elbow grease! I cheated a bit and used the green kitchen steel wool (it scratched it a bit, but this isn't a show truck). I used the stripper from this link and took as much paint off as possible.
