Adding subwoofers?
Well, I ended up w/ a nice enclosure w/ 2 JL Audio 12" subs in it. I was wondering if I could stick this in the LX w/out too much work or if my wife's car is going to get it... 02 LX w/ ML.

if you both want subs - make 2 sub boxes and put a jl sub into each one. mdf from home depot is cheap.
amp wise, i'd count on giving each sub 500 watts rms and you'll both have a rocking system. i just bought some mdf to make a box in my gf's rav 4... c'mon - YOU CAN DO IT!

I got 2 12" MTX's in the trunk of a 92 LS 400, with an adaptor to get the factory Premium Pioneer system to work with this. I know for a fact that you can put that in an LX. I chose to get mine installed. Took about 4 hours, but install is very clean (thanks Circuit City) and absoluty no wires are showing except at the install points (battery, capacitator, amp, box). If you didn't hear me coming, you would never know I had in car. Cmon, you can do it. Don't be scared. We got your back!!!!

I just had them leave the factory amp to power the door speakers as normal, but also had them install an amp to power those big boys in the trunk. If you going for boom, that factory amp will not put out nearly enough power to run those subs, so yes I would suggest install of additional amp for subs. Without it the ML amp will have to try to spread all of its power to all components in the car and with the power ratings on those subs, it will not be anywhere close enough to get effectiveness from them. Better to have more power and turn down if necessary then to be underpowered from the start.

I'm going to use a Pioneer GM-5200T, specs are:
125w x 2 rms @ 4 ohms, 250w x2 peak @ 4 ohms
190w x 2 rms @ 2 ohms,380w x 2 peak @ 2 ohms
380w x 1 rms @ 4 ohms,760w x 1 peak @ 4 ohms
I'll bridge it & should be good to go.

Anyone have some pics of clean LX installs? I am trying t think how it would work... with the seats and stuff. Where have they been put? Plenty of space for some mobile electronics in there though huh? A single clean JLW3 or W6 maybe 8,10 or 12 might suprise you...
