Default 2006 Lx470 Vvti

I'm getting conflicting stories on the 2006 LX470 incorporating the VVTI. Some salespeople say the VVTI is available as an option on the 2005 model, and some say that it isn't. We want a 2006 VVTI. Anyone know delivery date? Thanks, John

Welcome to Clublexus. I honestly cannot find your answer, sorry. Best bet is to call

And ask them will the 2006 engine be upgraded.

vvti was not available on the 2005 model as far as I know. It would not be an option, since there was only one engine available. The Lexus website says nothing about vvti on the LX470. As far as 2006 goes, who knows?? The 2005 is a great vehicle and you can wish in one hand for a new LX for 2006 and crap in the other hand and see which hand gets filled up first!! Get an '05 and enjoy it. When the '06 or '07 (or whenever the new one bows) come out, get one of those.

My Lexus Dealer says the 2006 LX470 VVTI's are coming out in June and that it would be a 2006 model.

The LX470 being the most expesive Lexus, why didn't it have vvt-i in 05 like the Tundra that costs one third.
I think LX customers in 05 got hooped.

I'm hearing now that the 2006 LX470 will have the VVTI this June with a slight front design modification, probably to break away from the boxiness and be inline with the Tundra/Tacoma styling. The last year maybe before they go to the Sequoia chassis (LX550) and ruin it.

Wow, I hope its nothing significant. If they change the front, I would imagine the next model being 2008, at the earliest. Why would you give a refreshening to the front, drop in a new engine and kill the car in the same year?

Exclamation The current LX is a fantastic vehicle....

......It's only shortcoming is it's relative lack of power. All they need to do is leave it alone and put in that new 270 bhp / 330 lb.ft. VVTi engine in there and it will be all great. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why these people have implemented this new motor in everyting from the GX and 4-runner to the Sequoia, and not put it in the LX and Landcruiser, which being so heavy, needs it the most ......Besides this, it only seems more appropriate and logical that the Flagship vehicles with people paying 65K+ should get this first!!! .....sometimes the way these people work just boggles my mind

....coming up very shortly. This is the only logical reason I can think of, as to why they've not put the new VVTi engine in the '05 LX and Landcruiser, when all the other "lesser" vehicles got it!!!

Default anyone talk to longo?

You should contact Elizabeth at Longo Lexus. She usually gives honest inside advise.
I know she reads the boards regularly.
Maybe she'll post any news on this topic.
