Just go to a Sam's Club or other discount seller and get their premium brand. They are all about the same and anyone can install it for you.

Just make sure you get one that is rated with the appropriate Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) that the LX calls for.

I got my battery from Costco. Used their house brand. As someone else said, make sure you have enough CCA.

Costco has a great battery return poilicy. If you have problems or if it doesn't last as long as it should, just return it...no questions asked.

They have Optima batteries as well -- a very good battery as well.

When I needed to replace the battery on my '98 LC about a year and a half ago, I was told Optima didn't make a batter for Land Cruisers.

Default optima

I checked the optima website and they had one (red) for the land cruiser. but they show there is non for the lx. ODD.

so i bought the red anyway for the lx. it has more cca than the stock battery. the only problem i had was that the wires were not long enough.

I extended the red terminal and the neg terminal by adding new battery clamps. I can email some pictures if anyone want them. or i can post them here if i figure it out.

I would go with the optima red top or an SVR deep cycle. The are both great batteries and are both deep cycle which is worth the extra money if you are replacing the stock battery IMO. They both fit is the stock location but the cables will have to be extended as stated above.
