Default Interior B Pillar trim getting nicked and snagged

I've read a few comments on this. The LS has 2100 miles on it, and I have several pretty bad snags already in the B pillar trim on the drivers door. Its a nice soft padded material vs the hard plastic material my GS had, but longevity is suspect...

What does this part cost if I wanted to replace it? Any idea?

$159 for the upper and $281 for the lower, plus you get the 10% discount.

Did I read it wrong or is 70 the savings...Looks like 289 dollars to me.

Thanks guys. That's going to be a bummer if it's that easily damaged...what as your experience been with that piece over time?

Isn't this covered under your initial warranty, IIRC, 12 months/12k miles? A follow-up suggestion: Ask and research on your own whether there's a TSIB that covers this problem. If it's happened with you, it's probably happened to others, and Lexus might have come up with a fix.

I had thought the LS460 had an initial period during which items not coverd by the basic warranty would be covered, but I can't find any documentation of this.

This is/was a known issue on the pre-2013 LS, and I am attaching the TSIB for it. It only shows 2007 and 2008 models, but the bulletin may have very well been updated to include additional model years.

I had this done on my 2008 460L and on my 2010 600hL (which at 9k miles did not look good), and the only consideration is that it is a one-time thing, and they warn you about it.

Even if this is not officially recognized as a pervasive issue for 2013-2015 cars, I have little doubt that they would take care of this for you: now (since your car is brand new) or later (within the 4/50 period, if you have a decent relationship with your dealer, and given the history of this part).

The TSIB shows the VIN cut-offs. Does that get interpreted with all of the 9 numeric digits or just the last 4 or something?

I'm surprised to see that this is still a problem on 2013+ MY. Here's pics of the one I'm about to buy with 86K. The only thing wrong with the vehicle are the b-pillars and some normal wear with creases on the drivers seat. Selling dealer doesn't seem willing to replace these. Any chance I could get corporate to do it? Just don't think I can live with this.Trying to negotiate to have the dealer sell me the parts at their cost. But waiting on the answer and price.
Any chance that I can get corporate to replace them? Would it be too much of a hassle and not worth it?

Lexus isn’t going to cover it. I couldn’t get them to cover mine under warranty.

Do you remember how much you paid to get them fixed? Was it both sides?

I never fixed it, it was just the driver side. I think each part is like $250.

Can I get these repaired without getting them replaced?
