Video-Checking fluid level for Toyota/Lexus transmission
Hey guys,
Grab a couple of beers, your gonna need it! This video shows that checking the Toyota/Lexus transmission fluid level is not for the faint-hearted. I believe the guy states at the end of the video that some Lexus and Toyota vehicles are even more difficult, i.e., our lovely LS460. I like the idea of the ability to calibrate the overflow straw based on operating temperature of transmission, but I think I'm with Roadfrog, I will leave this one to Lexus or Toyota. Why do they have to make it soooo complicated!

Thanks for posting the video.
I watched it closely and for the life of me don't understand why Toyota doesn't just issue a taller straw.
All you would need to do is check the trans temp using a scan tool and when it's in the zone you just need to open the drain plug and let it weep out till it stops.
There is no special tool or vacuum needed. The straw will be self contained in the transmission pan.
