rear cross traffic alert

Has anyone tried to modify /retrofit a 2007 with an aftermarket traffic alert or modify the parking sensor electronics to function as a traffic alert? ?

The RCTA uses the BSM radars in the back right and left. It does not use the parking sonar so I believe it would be a very difficult retrofit.
