Default Yet another trunk question......

I have a different trunk issue...... have a custom trunk lid encloser and it may be too heavy so the lid when the auto opener is engaged opens but when fully open it stops and slams down and closes. Is there an adjustment to allow for the additional weight so it stays open? I've searched but cannot find anything on the topic.

I remember seeing something about different settings that are available...the mechanism I think is behind the rear seat on drivers side, next to the storage extension box thing.

Thanks...I'll have to check that this weekend.

I forgot to mention I have an motorized trunk lid......not sure if this makes a difference if you're talking about a torsion bar adjustment.

....just realized I had another thread on this.....searching on a smartphone sucks....and so does my memory...

Finally got around to pulling the trunk apart.....audio setup got in the way....

Well the fix was pretty simple. One side of the torsion bar came off the hinge that actually connects it to the trunk pivot arm. So in essence, only one side of the torsion bar was actually engaged. Trunk now works but still gets caught when not parked on a flat surface, but that's due to the custom trunk lid interior panel and bitOne processor on the lid.

Do you have a power trunk? If not, I wonder how you manage to get the trunk to open. Mine is not motorized, and all I did was install a lightweight trunk spoiler. My trunk used to open all the way up but now does not. I adjusted the torsion springs to their max setting and even drilled new holes higher up to allow more torsion, but no joy.
