Default Driving LS 460 in Comfort and ECT Power Mode All the Time

Will there be a problem if I drive my Lexus LS 460 in the Comfort mode and ECT Power mode all the time. I like the Comfort mode because of the luxury ride feel and I like the ECT Power mode because of the faster acceleration. The car has air suspension and it is 2010 model. Thanks.

Not an issue at all, the only downside is your MPG's will drop due the aggressive mapping of the tranny but gas is cheaper now so enjoy!

Thanks Tee. The gas mileage is a given when driving in ECT Power but the fun of faster acceleration is worth it

Lol! Trust me I know how addictive & fun driving with the ECT/PWR engaged, when I'm in the mood instead Comfort I use Sport and the car dropped to level 3 via Data System controller.

I miss those options that I had on the 2012 LWB with air suspension. On the 2014 you have a choice of Comfort or Sport/Sport+. There is no way (That I know off) to have Comfort and the Power option anymore.

Air suspension is the ultimate luxury ride in particular when the car is in the Comfort Mode... Yes the air struts may go bad but there is a trade off for everything... I just replaced the rear passenger air strut today (car has 82000 miles on it) but fortunately the extended warranty (third party purchased via the dealer) covered all the cost...

Question: How does the new LS 460 (in your case the 2014) overall compare to the 2012 LS 460? I assume the technology is superior on the new LS 460 but how about the other aspects?

They are more or less the same car. Lexus did not change any of the major components so they drive about the same. Audio quality is slightly better than the 2010 - 2012 LS and worse than 2007 - 2009 LS.

Thanks for the info... I would not feel that bad with my 2010 Lexus

I got my spark plugs replaced yesterday and, influenced by your post, ran it at full throttle in PWR mode all day today. Exhilarating...combination of luxury and thrilling. Love the Ls460!!

You guys will flame me I am sure, but I'm totally convinced that both the ECT/COMFORT, HIGH AND LOW air shocks thing and SNOW or NO SNOW buttons are dummy buttons. Psychological only.

Fortunately, at the way gas prices are (here in Dallas, it is $2.06 for a gallon of 93 octane) I can afford to drive spirited a little more often!

That's only for the RWD version. When you remove the weight of the AWD, air suspension along with the amenities the car is quick. I tried to compare the power mode with the regular mode and there wasn't much difference in acceleration. The AWD less torque and a lot more weight then the RWD version makes better use of the power mode by kicking down the gears more aggressively to keep the car in its power band. The RWD version doesn't need it because the power is effortless.

Try to accelerate hard and fast with the "snow" button on and then tell me that it's a dummy button. I advise you not to do this when you're turning left against traffic, or it will have a dual meaning.
