Thumbs up Lewby just purchased 2010 LS 460L

Lewby = Lexus Newby

Hey guys, I just picked up a 2010 LS 460L, with 13,809 miles on it (as I drove it away). 1 owner, clean carfax, dealer inspection clean. Smokey Granite Mica with light gray interior.

It has the rear power, rear heated / cooled seats, and the rear vibration seats and cool box, 18" OEM chrome wheels (which I like more than I thought I would).

I picked it up in friggin Beverly Hills, 90210 on Friday 11/21. After finishing the deal I got "east bound and down" and drove it east to Flagstaff, AZ. The next day I pulled an all-nighter and got the rest of the way home, back to Peachtree City, GA (just south of Atlanta) by 1 pm on Sunday 11/23. The guy I bought from was one helluva great guy and a straight shooter. I believe I got a good deal.

It's at the house now with about 16,000 miles on it. It is an awesome vehicle. I'm here to learn. I've already picked up a few things by reading a thread about features and tips about the vehicle. I'm going to purchase the (don't remember what it's called) device that will allow all the stationary features to work while the vehicle is in motion. I was reading the owner's manual, wishing the local dealer offered an "LS 460 101" class, and couldn't believe when I read the ML / Navi system would play a DVD (movie). So, I loaded one in, and lo-and-behold, it played straight away.

Although the vehicle has low miles, the Beverly Hills miles were harsh ones. It took a small tap to the rear bumper which left a couple small scratches. It needs one or more new rotors as one or more are warped. The outer edges of 2 of the chrome wheels look as if it rolled across an I.E.D., but the meat of the wheels are all good (no vibration problems). The tires are probably 75% worn. And it pulls just a hair to the left. I prefer the normal cruise control versus the radar. And I can't figure out how to BT my Samsung Galaxy phone to the AUX to listen to Pandora. From what I read, seems it's going to take a wire. Not a huge deal ... let me know if I'm wrong. The BT connection to the phone works, but not the Pandora part of it.

Other than that, it is just fabulous. The ML system is fantastic, but one of my other fleet cars is an RX-7 with a shot radio, so ... I don't have a lot to compare it against. This is my first luxury car, my history is trucks, inexpensive cars, and toys.

One last note, I worked for Toyota years back as a design engineer (even have a Toyota patent) and have loved these cars even before then, but more since that experience. I still have a Corolla that I picked up before I left there. A 2004 model with 170k miles and still running like a champ.

Looking forward to being a part of the club ... and learning.

Welcome Lewby!

You're going to LOVE that ML system. It blows me away every time I listen to it. There are songs I used to listen to - some on high end home systems, and am now hearing sounds, instruments and things in songs I never heard before with the ML. Outstanding.

Sounds like a great deal! While the dealers don't offer an LS460 101 class, there is a supposed "Tech Expert" at each dealership who can show you how to stream music via Bluetooth from your Galaxy to the ML system on the 2010 and later vehicles.

Default Pictures?

I didn't post pictures as I figured you guys had seen these cars to death. But now I'm out of town again not in the LS. I don't really have any great pictures of it. I'll try to get some tomorrow. Seems that should be a requirement so I'll get it done.

Default BT Audio

Came home, started playing with the car and got the BT Audio to work. I had done this same action before, but it decided to work this time. Pandora up and running. Going to get some pictures tomorrow if the weather is good.

Congrats on purchasing one of the best cars ever made. You'll soon find out why this car is truly perfection at it's best. A True majestic chariot, that impresses just by thinking about it, and a prestigious honor to own.

How do I embed a video? I'll edit this reply and embed it here. But don't know how.

I took a time lapse video of the car reacting to selecting the HIGH HEIGHT button. It raises up, it lowers, and does it again. It's not a huge movement ... but it's interesting (not a fancy video either). But I was curious if it was doing anything, because it's very difficult to see. Also, the car is just idling, I'm not sure if it raises and lowers more when the vehicle is in motion.

Congrats. It's a great ext color. Is it tan or black int?

I think the '10 is a "value" sweet spot. As I recall, it features a modest int and ext freshening plus improved audio functionality. Many are being sold by their first owners, who I have great trust have taken care of the car they bought new. And depreciation has hit it quite nicely, making it a great deal today.
