Rear Window Cracked
Hello, I'm new to Club Lexus.. bear with me if there is a thread about this on here.
My right rear window cracked. I'm guessing a little rock hit it or something. At first, the crack was small but now it's gotten a lot bigger
I have the ls460L model and hoping if anyone has a suggestions on where I should start looking for an OEM window replacement? And if you know the price range? I've been calling around auto glass repair and gotten some feedback that it is a special window because it's laminated. Is it true that I can only go to the dealership for this case?

I'm sure the auto glass shop could repair/replace the window but personally I would take it to a Lexus body shop to have the window replaced. The windows are laminated.

If your glass company cant get an OEM window, then they arent worth the time of day. I have a glass guy I call no matter what, and if it has to be OEM, he goes through the dealer collision center and gets it at cost, and then sells it at wholesale to me. ((for anyone in AZ near Glendale, I can send you the info))
But you being in California, there is a lot of those little hole in the wall places that sell a lot of windows and get bigger and look legit and everything, and they are if you drive a 1996 honda accord and need a windshield, but when it comes to side glass and anything thats not a car that sold over 10 million units in a year, then you really gotta look for someone who is legit, or just go to the dealer which will cost more, but the odds of getting a bunk window from the dealer are about zero.

I don't think the rear door windows are laminated (only the front). You should be able to find an OEM one at a wrecking yard. I don't think you'll find an aftermarket source and the dealer will bankrupt you!
EDIT: Your insurance company might help you locate one (even if they aren't paying for it).
