Guess I need to slow down. I do mainly city driving and get about 15mpg. But I don't care. I didn't buy this thing for the gas mileage. Although I must admit, getting 30mpg on long trips is impressive.

75% highway, 25% city and averaging 25mpg. The "mpg since refueling" is all over the place (21-28) but the moving average value remains pretty constant.

The 8 speed transmission is great for gas mileage and shifts very smoothly, but the kickdown performance leaves something to be desired - it leisurely drops down through 1.... 2.... 3 gear changes before taking off and the lag is very annoying.

16 city for me; 23 highway with Eco off, 27 with Eco on. That is for a 2011 SWB with hilly city streets and highway speed of 75 or so. First highway trip I forgot to turn Eco on and that was when I got 23.

Turing ECT to Power costs me about 1 MPG city. Have not checked ECT Power on highway. I usually leave ECT on Normal, but there are times when the extra throttle response is fun:-).

I must be going pretty damn easy on the pedal compared to you, which means you're having more fun. I find that the car kind of glides very well and I don't need to keep my foot on the pedal going down hills, etc. Then again it's not exactly fun driving this way.

So I can probably expect the mileage to drop a couple mpg down to the mid 25 range? I guess I can live with that.

I haven't tried driving it with the power button on, or the snow button either. I bought it last December and it pretty much sat the entire winter, then I hardly drove it during the summer, but I've since made it my everyday commuter...so I'll have a chance to use all the modes.

Same here , when your driving a V8 I learned quickly not to even keep track of your gas or what your spending.

I do like to make sure im getting "normal" mpg's just so I know my car and engine is running efficiently, but I mean in terms of getting 27mpg's or 26mpgs? Its not worth the time and effort to monitor it.

I understand what you are saying - I do - but personally I'm not wasting any time or effort monitoring my mileage. I don't know if your LS 430 has this, but the LS 460 monitors it for me. All I have to do is look down at the instrument cluster, it tells me my mileage since my last fill up, how many miles I've driven since my last fill up, how many miles I can go, my average speed, what I'm getting for fuel economy at that very second, how cold it is outside, my long term fuel economy, what my tire pressure is set at...I don't have to do a thing. Does the LS 430 do that? I've never owned one.

With the LS 460's transmission I know I can get some pretty decent fuel economy, I've just never driven it in the winter and was wondering how much winter gas/cold temperatures would effect the great fuel economy I'm currently getting.
