Default LS 460L on Tanabe NF210 Springs

I have a 2011 LS 460L on a set of Tanabe NF210 Springs. Had them installed last week. Shout out to the Hommie Shibumi1 for the heads up. These springs truly feel close to factory. Prior to purchasing the springs, I called Tanabe to see if the springs would work with the L Model. In looking at their website, the long wheel base model is not listed as an option. Although they aren't listed, they indicated the springs should work provided there were no differences between the oem springs for the base and L models. In speaking with lexus, I confirmed there were no differences and proceeded with purchasing the springs. My problem is after having the springs installed, the back sits way lower than anticipated, and rubs when hitting any dip in the road and this is without any load in the back. Even shaving the fenders appears to not be an option.

I've got a set of Vossen CV3s with 295/25/22 Michelins in the rear. My first thought after discussions with others was that perhaps the offset of the wheels was off. After speaking with Vossen today, they informed me that wheel only comes in two offsets for the 460, 38+ and 20+. My plan is to verify the offsets of the rear wheels tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure the offsets are correct. So after all of this, my question is is there anyone out there who is or has experienced the same issues using Tanabe NF210 springs on the 460L model? I see a lot of cats using them on the standard 460 models but have been unable to find anyone with the L models using them. My theory now is that perhaps the L model is heaver in the rear which is causing more load on the springs creating the issue. Any input is so welcomed. My baby is parked until I get this issue resolved.

Glad that I didn't go that route, I was thinking about springs also for my L but I was thinking that what you said would happen. My car is really soft in the back and my 22's will hit the top of the fenders when I have people in the back seat if I hit dips at speed. I'm riding stock too.

Nice Lookin L Bolosdad. Yea that was my look last week. Don't get me wrong, sitting in the driveway on them Tanabes, it looks sick. Problem is that's where it's been the last week. Gotta get this thing figured out. I know I can't be the only one with an L model who's lowered their car with springs. lol

All about correct offset. I have 305/25/22 steamrollers in the back and don't rub with passengers unless I lower my oem air suspension down several levels..it never rubs at stock height

Preciate that CJitty. Shibum1 said the same thing. He once had the same wheels on his whip with larger tires with no problems. His wasn't an L model though. I'm gonna verify the offset but it almost seems like a weight issue for the Tanabe Springs. Like I said there seem to be no issues with them on base models but with the L, which I assume may be heaver in the back is causing issues with them, maybe thus the reason Tanabe doesn't list the springs for the L model.

If offset is correct, it might be back to the drawing board. Know of any lowering springs out there with comparable spring rates to the Tanabes that may not drop as low in the rear, that ride pretty well?

I know its ol school but I'll check into spacers tomorrow. .. but the tanabes should only be .8" drop in the rear... how in the heck can that rub unless it's the wrong offset... that would mean u could NEVER go grocery shopping or on a road trip with luggage in the trunk?? SMH (scratching my head)

I had those springs prior going full air on a different set of vossens. No difference in rub at all. Has to be offset. Looks from the pic you have +20

Did I read that you shaved the rear quarters? You know not every tire will have the same shape. It may be the same size as another brand but when mounted doesn't have the same shape... Like where the sidewall meets the thread.

So i guess its time to order a new set of rears. . Did they give an eta on the new rears? Don't let this discourage you...modding is a learning experience. A small bump in the rd.. heck i have a extra Wald front bumper(I'm thinking of hanging on the living room wall)... a set of rears will make nice coffee tables...
