Default 22's on stock suspension

I have an 09 ls 460l with stock suspension and 22's. My rear suspension will hit the top of the fender over dips and bumps with rear passengers in the car. Has anyone else experienced this? I have 285/25/22 on the rear.

I think the reason your wheel is hitting the fender is due to the offset of the wheel. Do you know what offset your rear wheel is? Sounds like it could be a bit on the low side since your tires don't seem to be too out of standard spec.

Check the wheel and tire sticky thread and see what offsets work with stock suspension whether on oem air or struts

Your 22 inch are too large for your 09 LS 460 L and the rear passengers add extra weight. The rear suspension needs modification to accommodate the larger rims and passengers.

There are quite a few guys on here without modified suspension who's vehicles have 22" rims.

Again..look at the wheel and tire thread at the top of the list of threads..I personally know 15 people running 22s on their short and long wheelbase LS460s and LS600s some of us even ride lowered without fender mods. End of debate

This statement is completely false..please stop spreading misinformation and learn more about our cars by reviewing the faq thread before spreading incorrect information like this

Offset is most likely wrong, too agressive. Nothing to do with tire or rim size. I was the first to put 305/25/22 in the rears no mods no rubs

I had 22's on a LS460 stock non A/S no rub with or without rear passengers, I'm running 22's on a LWB stock A/S now and no rub unless it's a nice dip and I'm going at HWY speeds when on a lower level then stock height. As others stated sounds like an aggressive offset issue.

So I was thinking about coilovers for my car, do you think that it would help with stiffening out the rear end so that the tires won't hit the fender? It doesn't happen constantly but if I'm above 40mph and hit a dip it will scrap depending on how much weight is in the back. On the highway with a full car and we hit a dip it will scrap also.

Can you provide wheels size and offset...that would help us help you.

I ran 22x11 +25 with a shaved fender...no rubbing.

Ok so the Front off set is 30 with a 9 inch wheel and the rear is a 35 off set 10.5 inch wheel. Will it just come down to stiffer suspension for added weight in the rear? Maybe coilovers would help?

Where you planning on getting lowering your car before the running issues? Though lowering a car does increas the negative camber, I think the rubbing will continue. The first thing I would do is have the rear fenders shaved. It's the cheapest and if you want to lower your car you'll have to shave them anyways. If it continues to rub, you'll need a smaller size tire or the same size tire but with a more rounded shoulder.

Edit: Are you sure you are rubbing on the fender? Or are you rubbing in the inside plastic area where the rear bumper meets the quarter panel?

You'll be fine..run a 255/30 front and a 295/25 rear. If you were 38 or higher you could run the 305/25
