I'm about 1 month into my new 2014 LS 460 and here is my maps info.

Map version: 21-13-17 (2013-06-1)

Then it lists a map update ID with 16 digits.

Do we think this is the latest maps data? I would hope so.

I am not sure I can speak to the 2014's but on my 2010 LS460L 6th Gen NAV display on the right side below the DEST button is a button that says info/phone. When I push that, a screen comes up that has lots of choices and one of them is Map data. When I push it Version 9.1 comes up

I have a 2007, so I will need the dealer to do it then, huh? Does anyone know how much the labor and software will cost? Thank you.

Yes I believe you will need to take it to a dealer. The software update is $169 plus 1 hour labor to install. The 14.1 software update version will not be available for another month or so. It comes out in mid-late October.

The latest version is 13.1. Cost at my local dealer last month was just under $300 which included everything. I only upgraded as my 2007 car was on the original (6.1) map.
Dealer didn't update the CDDB, which they should have. Oh well.

Latest version is 13.2, done just a week ago (screen shot attached). CPO indeed does not require this, though it surely is a nice gesture (my car had 09.1 despite being built in late 2010).

That's what I thought, that updates only happened once a year, and that getting the "current year" version required waiting until Fall. The latter is still true, but clearly something was updated between version 13.1 and the much-anticipated version 14.1, so the latest at the moment is 13.2.

Sorry, what I meant is that this time of the year, anyone wanting to update is eagerly awaiting the Fall release. No other information; otherwise I would've waited!

I am going to have it done in October at Lexus of Omaha sometime when the 14.1 version comes in. I assume you had it done at Lexus of Omaha? What did they hit you up for labor rate? Was it 1 hour or a half hour of labor?

I need to check and get back to you. I had a credit in the mix and was getting other things done, so I don't know precisely (off the top of my head) what the entire charge was for the NAV. I don't believe it should get up to an hour; the process may take that long, but nobody is tied up watching for all that time.

My "NE" is for New England, not Nebraska (as any reasonable individual would expect) - sorry for the confusion!

That's ok and yes I did take the NE to mean Nebraska. Just as a head's up then I will tell you if you are ever going through Omaha, Nebraska and need some work done on your LS 600hL that the folks at Lexus of Omaha, Nebraska are really nice.
