So I checked and my 13' 460 F Sport has Michelin MXV4 S8 tires. they ride great.

David Mack suggested the Primacy 3ST and what I read they sound better than the MXV4.

When the time comes I will choose either DWS or Primacy.

Only have had my Michelin mxv4s for a few days but I echo philj (my name is Phil also) tires are real quiet and ride great. Real happy all around so far, still getting used to the touchy brake and acceleration differences from my 2013 gs six speed v6 versus the 2014 8speed v8. Love the car, today will be my first rain ride.

On another topic, do most use regular car wash for their LS or hand wash all the time?

Depends if you want grand touring or ultra high performance all season. for UHP all season, Michelin A/S3 have the best dry performance. Continental DWS tires are pretty plush and comfortable. Hankook S2 noble2 is somewhere in between the two in feel and much cheaper. At least a few months ago, it was the highest rated
tire in its class. I have experience will all three tires on different cars. I have the As3 on my LS460 Sport.

Bridgestone has a very good name especially in the weekend warrior racing community.
All of the Bridgestone tires that I have bought were very good. Granted the Bridgestone tires that came with the car from the factory are lousy.
I just had new tires put on and I chose the Potenza RE970AS Pole Position. I had the RE960 on the BMW and they were exceptional tires especially in the wet.

Hi Phil I think this should be a new topic (thread) but I only use a car wash where nothing touches the car or I hand wash. Also to protect against stones I put film on the front of the car. I used Xpel which I thought was best. and they advise no strong water. There is a lot of advice on this subject if you search.

Is the Michelin Primacy 3ST available in the US? I see they are available in Australia and Malaysia. Sounds as if this tire was specifically made to be smoother and quieter than any other tire on the market. How does this tire compare to other Michelin tires? I am considering the Primacy that you can get here in the US, but wonder if they are different than the 3ST.

Yes they are very different ... For some strange reason we have for once gotten the newer technology than the US !
Primacy is a name michelin used for a range of tires but the 3ST Is the latest and from what Michelin told me much newer than the older series . They are amazingly quiet and the ride is way better than anything else ... The sidewalls look as if they are half flat .... Bu t the car handles better than ever ...

Has anyone ever tried a Goodyear tire? People always say look and see what the Rolls Royce runs. Well it looks like they run Goodyear tires. A model not available for our 460's but a goodyear tire. Never hear people say they run them.

If you believe in run-flats, then yes, Goodyear run-flats are reasonable (especially current generation).

If you're a car manufacturer selling hundreds of thousands of cars each year, saving a $10 will translate into millions of dollars of savings.

I think for enthusiasts, we're willing to pay more for higher-end tires since it's "not that much more" to us individually.

Sometime around 1990 I put a set of AquaTreds on my father's Ford LTD. it was right when Goodyear came out with that tire. They were satisfactory, nothing more, nothing less. Since they were supposed to perform well on wet roads, I thought they might be a little better in light snow than all season tires. However, they weren't any improvement.

I have the bridgestone turanza el42 on my 19" right now and they are the worst tires I have ever own. They are loud *** hell, won't balance right, not great in the rain just overall not worth the money. I'm going to buy the bridgestone turanza serenity next time.

Why would you go with the same manufacturer and an allegedly improved model?

Personally, I'm going either Pirelli or Michelin.

Gotcha. I'm just hostile towards Bridgestone as I suffer through each day on these miserable tires.
