Started looking for an LS460
Greetings everyone.
Over the years I have been in and out of this forum, but mainly as a lurker.
We are a solid Lexus family, although over the last 7 years I have strayed to other areas while still
maintaining a good stable of Lexus vehicles.
Currently, (as a nuclear family) we have:
97 ES300 mine
98 LS400 (recently retired) dad
01 IS300 sister
07 IS250 awd mom/sister
07 LS460 dad
I have explored into M5's, 911 Turbos, Mas QP, etc. Its time now to push my 97 ES300 to official
major beater status and find myself a newer Lexus.
I am interested in an LS460. Anything from 07 onwards, sub 85k miles.
I am really eager to learn about what quirks, options, maintenance/recalls, ANYTHING to look fo or to avoid. Are there any years to avoid? Are the newer Lexus cars solid like the older ones?
Any type of advice/suggestions/information would be incredibly appreciated!
Thanks again!

Best bet is to get a low mileage CPO car from Lexus as the common problems with this car (Levinson amp, control arm bushings, shock absorbers, etc) and the not so common problems (engine, transmission, AWD transfer case) are very expensive to fix. The newer Lexus vehicles should be no less reliable than the older ones but Lexus Service has gone Toyota over the last 10 years. Suggest you drive your dad's car for a week or so and make sure it's what you really want (it's not a M5, 911 or Quatroporte).
