LS ride quality compared to ES
Hi,
I just got a ES300h 2014, and so far I'm very happy with it. I come from a C-Class and I think it ride way smoother and it's more quiet and more luxurious. But I keep reading here that the ES ride like a Corolla when you compare it to an LS, so I'm now really curious about the LS.
Do you really think a ES is a corolla in comparison to the LS? Should I trade my ES for the LS?
I'm 29yrs, I'm pretty young for a ES if I compare to the average, but I think the LS have an average that is even older then the ES.
Anyway, I'm very happy with the fuel economy of the ES, but it's not like if it's a big deal too. I was spending more on gaz with the Mercedes, and it's not like if it changed anything in my day to day life.

i wouldn't say es is a corolla. between es and ls, i would say maybe between camry and avalon
the es is a great car, but the ls is quite a big step above. better material, better finish, suspension is much more fine tuned imho, especially if you opt for the air suspension. the car has better insulation as well imho.
imho it's true that there is no comparison between the two cars, but then again, there is a huge gap in the price tags too
since you had a c class. in some way, it's like comparing that to the s class

Well, the S-Class compare to the LS, the C-class compare to the IS, the ES to the E-Class,
Ok, well, I keep changing my car each year anyway, I guess my next car will be an used LS, I will wait for the new design (2013+) to become available used at a lower price in few years.
I will keep my eye open for a deal.

The ES is NOT like a corolla NOR does it ride like one. The ES is more like the Camry and is build off this platform. The ES rides really nice, smooth, nimble and tight.
The LS is luxurious, smoother, quieter and much more refined than the ES.

The 2013- present is built off the Avalon platform but share no parts and built in separate factories. You can't compare the ES to the LS they are two different classes (lightweight vs heavyweight) even older LS is still leaps and bounds over the current ES. The new ES IMO is the best one yet from exterior & interior and is a very nice car.

I believe the ES is more like an Avalon. I had an Avalon 2005 until I stepped up to a 2010 LS460L. There is a difference. However, the Avalon was a great car. I just went thru a mid life crisis and needed the car of my dreams. I'd wanted a large luxury vehicle for years. The LS was the best choice. So be happy with your ES for now. If you can afford to trade up to an LS, then do so. Don't be worried about age perception. I was told only old people drive LS's...really??? Look around Club Lexus....plenty of young bucks rolling like players....hahaha!!! I love it!!! Wish I had the time and money to mod mine like a lot of people on here do. Have fun!!!

Well, thanks for all your input.
I did test drive the Avalon 2014 before buying the ES300h, and no they don't compare, the Avalon is bumpier, lot more road noise. The ES is pretty quiet and very smooth, but if the LS is even smoother, it would be my dream car (since here we have really bad road).
Anyway, the gaz price keep going up, so I guess my Hybrid will have a pretty good resale value.
I will wait for the newer model to be available at a more reasonable price and I will make the switch.
I had to drive the IS 2014 the other day, and that's really a bumpy and noisy car!!! I'm glad I took the ES.

Every Lexus feels refined, quiet, and smooth...until you drive an LS. The LS just takes the smoothness, ride quality, refinement, and noise isolation to another level. Its a BIG upgrade from the ES, but bear in mind the LS also costs basically twice as much as the ES.
The ES is a very smooth and quiet car, but its no LS.
I try to avoid driving LS's because as soon as I drive one I remember how much better it really is LOL
