As stated....red T Taps and if you're ike me and **** about neatness and such, wire ties/zap straps.

Yes, I used red T-taps for the small wires, but the12V wire was a big/thick wire, too big for T-taps. Yellow T-taps would still be too small for the 12V wire.

Ordered the DBall kit ($69 version) yesterday from Toby at Broadfield Customs. Toby answered all my emails and questions quickly and has been very helpful. Thanks everyone here for the great install info and tips. I'll post my thoughts when I get the unit installed but, that could be spring.

Ah yes....there was that one wire. What I did on that one, was solder the end of the wire to solidify all the strands. I then inserted it into the back harness where the pins enter it. I stuffed it in there real well and then zap strapped it piggy-back so it wouldn't go anywhere.... pseudo-ghetto.

Just wanted to thank everyone here once again. Installed it this morning. Was very simple. Works great. Now I need to buy the smart start so I can use my phone.

Oh man. For all told say $75 bucks including connectors it cannot be beat. Took my time installing it and it was still fast. I prepared everything last night by putting on connectors before hand and soldering the wires together like you mentioned so it was super simple.

Default Shout Out to Shibumi1

Just want to let you all know that I had my DBALL2 and SmartStart installed today by Shibumi1. Besides doing a great job, he's a super guy. If you're anywhere in the state of FL and need some work done, reach out to him. Oh yeah - his car is amazing.

Next up for me is going to be a K40 360i with laser, Prestigious bypass and an IVIC-D install. Going to drop some $ but worth it. See you in about a month, Damian!

Awesome. His rear emblem looks great during the day. That latest video he posted leaves me scratching my head.

Question on the Smart Start...Does the price include the subscription? If so for how long? I have the DBall2 installed would just need to add the Smart Start. Is it just a plug into the Dball2 or are there additional things to wire in? Thanks

Smart start has a separate service charge depending on gps/non gps models.. gps $99 1yr/$199 3yr.. non gps $69 1yr/$139 3yr

it does plug in but in the latest version programming is harder than the actual install.. (website can crash during set up if too many installers are logged in at the same time)

now for the emblem.. that vid was shot around 4/5pm in the shade (i ordered an 2nd light to increase daytime visibility) but i designed it for nighttime viewing (i still prefer badge less) but for shows an night time use its cool to turn it on/off...(i plan to link it to the smart start for remote turn on/off) plus its rgb so I'm not stuck with a single color... (so far indigo is my fav)

My "plan" is to finish the audio for the JM meet in early feb

Take your time, and match up the connectors correctly. Follow the pictures in the instructions and you'll be fine. It's very simple. I used T-Taps like others and had everything I could pre-wired up before I even went out there. Couple of connections, then all set. Good luck and report back
