Default Aux port in my 08

Guys,

I bought an aux adaptor so I can play Pandora/Music from my iPhone 5s through my ML stereo. I'm not trying to do anything fancy or wirelessly, just play music. I pressed the DISC/AUX with the AUX wire connected to my phone/car, and couldn't get it to play the music. The manual said to do just what I did, but when I press DISC/AUX it just goes to the HDD, and I don't have any music on there.

So what am I doing wrong?

Keep pressing the button until the aux appears on the navi screen.

I pressed the button over 20 times and nothing. I tried holding the button down for about 2 mins and it still didn't show up my aux

This is all I get:

Which aux adapter did you buy? VAIS, Dice (Audiovox), Grom? Or do you mean you just bought a cable to plug into your console jack?

Every time you press the Dics/Aux button the unit should cycle through Disc, HDD, CD them Aux. It is strange your Aux is not showing up at all.

I bought one from Radio Shack but I don't think it's the problem.

Yeah this is the part that is confusing me. It doesn't give me the option even for CD.

Here is a video (might have to scroll down after the page opens):

Try cycling through with your mode button on your steering wheel

Did you or someone remove the radio, sound like someone didn't plug the cd part back in, or the CD player is bad. Can you load CDs in your unit?

Has any work ever been done behind the dash that you are aware of? Perhaps a cable is unplugged in the back of the nav which is why it isn't even cycling to it.

**edit** beat me by a minute. Lol

OK so I just loaded a CD. It recognized and played the CD, but no volume came out. I tried a different CD and same issue - CD plays but no sound. I scrolled through and it still didn't show AUX

I just bought the car so I don't know if anything has ever been disconnected behind it...

I thought that it shows AUX if a good cable is connected to the port. If u disconnect the cable it will skip showing it on the screen. Certainly there is another issue for no sound, probably the amp? Does you FM radio work?

Well the radio works just fine... So I don't think it's the amp. I can try another aux cable tomorrow but this one is brand new.
