Default Toyota dealer DISASTER!!!

So, I'm the proud 2 week owner of a 2010 LS600hL only 16,000 miles on it.

Lexus agreed to put new tires on the car due to it being a CPO car and I wasn't happy about the tires on it. So, I decided to get it aligned since I don't know when if ever it had been aligned. My Lexus dealer is about 80 miles from me. I decided to take it to Mike Johnson Toyota, Hickory NC.

Well, 5 minutes in, they WRECKED the car. The guy ran it straight into the alignment machine. Did I mention it was Mike Johnson Toyota, Hickory NC. Tore up the bumper, cracked the upper chrome and lower black grill.

An alignment...that's ALL I wanted...a Friggin' alignment!!

So, here is where I stand with them...
They want to fix the car at their shop...NOT going to happen!
They now have to flatbed the car to Flow Lexus, Winston Salem, NC (don't want them putting miles on it)
Car must be flatbed BACK to me
Flow will do the repairs.
Broke my 89.00 Lexus vanity plate too!!! Paid 69.00 at sewel CL discount. Shhh they don't need to know.
They are working up a figure to pay me for depreciation on the vehicle.

You cannot imagine how pissed off I was, I was seriously ready to strangle someone. I totally understand traffic accidents, but man!!! This was just ridiculously careless.

FYI, I think the guy broke the alignment machine too....I think he will be SO fired!!

Sad thing is, this is the second screw up from Mike Johnson Toyota, they did an EFI clean on my wife's RX350 and didn't put the fuel lines back properly and 2 hours from home the car started rapidly dumping fuel on the exhaust pipes. Could have blown the car up. Thank goodness the car immediately shut down and went into limp mode. Left her stranded, again thank goodness for Lexus Roadside assistance, they were awesome.

Needless to say, never again will I take our Lexus' to Toyota nor Mike Johnson Toyota. Even for something as simple as an alignment.

Any thoughts on what you think is fair for depreciation?

Oh, man what horrible luck. As you say, accidents happen but that doesn't make it any easier to swallow!

Wow. You have some bad luck. I can't imagine how you did not tear someone's head off. I had a guy drop my 460 of a jack the other day and almost killed him, but there was no damage.

Why would you take a Lexus vehicle to a Toyota dealership?

Yea but in America, the two brands are different and treatments are different from each other. I'd rather take my Toyota to Lexus. LOL.

Exactly.....and it was just a wheel alignment. I had my local Toyota dealer do my brake flush with no problems. they also use Techstream, so should be no problems with them working on a Lexus, unless it's a recall or warranty work.

I've been told that Lexus is the only people who should be doing the alignment on the LS vehicles as they are unique and require a special technique. . .

I will be bringing my LS to Lexus however terrible the price just so i'm sure it's done properly.

Thankfully your car wasn't stolen like my brother's GS FROM THE LEXUS SERVICE BAY!

Why take it to a Lexus dealer and get a replacement OEM bumper? Take it to a body shop and with the money they are paying to replace the bumper, etc, get an after market body kit. That's what I would do.

1st. after that incident with your wife they would have never seen me again
2nd. the depreciation has nothing to do with it (they broke it they fix they are not buying the car from you)
3rd. I would have them haul it into my Lexus dealership and let Lexus make all the repairs and watch their reaction when Lexus hits them with a ridiculous repair bill, then i would have them haul the car back to me.

Quick question did the destroy either one of the headlights or the front emblem radar system?

If you have any pics, post them up. I know it's heartbreaking, but it may help us see what is going on. And if you haven't taken pics, take them immediately.

This would be $1000+ right here as the badge itself is about $850-$900 not including replacement!

That sucks. I wouldn't have gone back a second time though after they messed up the first time with the RX.
