Its not about 0-60 times, the 460 feels peppier and quicker...

To be fair, as much as I know about Lexus I do mistake the LS460 for the 07-12 ES350 from a distance sometimes.
But, thats not that unusual. Its easy to mistake a 7 for a 5, or a 5 for a 3. If you look at the new MB C Class, it would be really easy to mistake an S for a C or a C for an S...from a distance where you can't get a sense of size.
I did also mistake the LS430 for the Avalon a few times from the front from a distance too thogh

yes 0-60 is not what / how i would measure between ls430 and ls460 either (quite pointless). but at any speed, the driving, the throttle response, etc... the ls460 is clearly a winner and noticeably better / faster / more responsive over the ls430

I'm not backpedaling at all, I've said repeatedly I prefer the LS460. Its just that with the advent of L-Finesse styling the "family resemblance" in the lineup is more pronounced than it was when the LS430 was around. For some people thats an issue. Me? I don't really care.
Hey, when I had my ES350 if I squinted just right, and cocked my head to the side....and stoon 20 feet away...it looked just like an LS460! lol

I'm not going to argue with you...but I have no idea what you are talking about. My opinion has not changed.

Mistaking the 460 for a Camry??! Lol! Sorry I don't get it, every time I see this comment I laugh, I know some German fans love using that phrase but I'm sure it's meant to be shot at Lexus/owners.

I've owned a 2002 ls430 6 yrs and its been great to me . I have about 187,000 so I was thinking about getting a 460. I just test drove a 07 460 the other day and wow what a car. The only thing is that it has 97,000 miles all records/recalls from lexus dealership. What do you guys think of ?

I have a 2002 LS430 and am considering going to the 460. Was wondering if anyone has owned a 430 and a 460 and how they compare. My 430 rides silky smooth and I can't imagine getting any better ride. Does the 460 ride as smoothly and quietly as the 430? Also, which year had the valve spring recall? Was it 2007 or 08? Thanks in advance for all replies/advice.
I owned Yr 2000 LS430 FOR 10 years & had only one problem, namely starter motor solenoid.
I agree the LS430 was silky smooth, & you won't gey a better ride !
Now have 2008 LS460. Have found air suspension "rattles" / "rumbles",...auto transmission appears to be a little jerky, & have slight wind noise at speed at drivers door.
I'm in the process of taking these issues up with Lexus dealer, as I didn't expect to have these problems. Frankly speaking I should have kept my LS430.

I'm new to the LS scene, (and Lexus for that matter), but at no time did I see any resemblance between it and the Camry. I just don't get it. They aren't even close to the same size for starters. When I was at the Toyota dealer, I parked beside an Avalon to see if there was any resemblance either...but again, nope.
