Brembo Brakes Squeel Lexus free repair
#32
Yes they stop a little better. But the regular non brembo brakes are plenty good enough. I have the 2011 sport but there is no way this car was to be driven like a sports car. So to me I would rather have regular brakes that last twice as long. Have half the brake dust. Not as expensive to replace. And don't squeal.

I had the fix on my 2013 Fsport LS and it worked for a few months, the squeak is back and worse than ever. The squeak is so loud, frequent and embarrassing when you pull up to stop light/stop sign for this car.
I have gone back and forth with the service folks and they are telling me that there is not much else that can be done, they can clean the breaks and the squeak will disappear but they will come back.
I have contact the general manager at the dealership that I bought the car at, asking them to help me get out of this car - I know over time, the squeak will drive me nuts. I'm very bummed, since I do like the car, ride, etc.

I bought my 2011 Lexus LS 460 in April and the dealership said I had a brake replacement service done, in May my brakes were squeaking. Took it in and Lexus changed them out. Wondering why they didn't do the fix in the first place? (Not to throw out the girl card).
I now have very touch brakes, does anyone else have this issue or should I just get used to it?
I think I may need to change my service writer.

I did the bedding in procedure on the way home from a late night at work (no traffic). WOW, these things really grab and are easy to modulate.

Thanks for the tip for this brand. The carbon ceramic pads I would go for in a heartbeat over OEM. Even if they eat rotors a bit, I'd rather have the cleaner wheels, ya know?

No wonder, the pads are made by Pagid, see top middle right of pad. Pagid was (maybe still are) one of the OEM suppliers for BMW. On my prior 2002 E39 5 series, the OE Pagids bit hard but dusted like crazy. Changed to Akebono and hardly any dust, but lost the hard initial bite.

Bought a set of front Carbotech™ 1521 pads for my ride. Having dealer install them soon. P/N Fronts: CT1440
The Carbotech™ 1521™ is our high performance street compound. The 1521™ compound is known for its release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. 1521™ is also a very low dusting and low noise compound with an excellent initial bite. This compound's excellent linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Carbotech™ 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 800°F (426°C+). 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle or fleet vehicle. Carbotech™ 1521™ is NOT recommended for ANY track use.

Still not one squeal, and I can STILL see the clean spots on the wheels from when I took them off to change pads. Power Stop 16-1440, on sale from Rockauto.com for $33. Such a deal. I ordered Akebono ACT1283 for the rears since they are the same as non-sport (at least for the 2010-12 Sport).
