Default LS460L to be delivered tomorrow. Couple of questions for you.

I'm excited as all get out to receive my 460L tomorrow (2007, every upgrade, 7300 miles, pristine, Starfire Pearl). I will eventually upgrade the wheels but for now I really care about losing the nanny features of the car and restoring functionality of all controls (audio/nav/bluetooth, etc). Is there an easy fix or control module that I can get? I've searched but I want y'alls opinions.

The other question is I want to keep functionality of the ML audio system but incorporate iPhone functionality so that I can control functions from the steering wheel and also see the song info from the screen.

If you guys can hook me up with that knowledge, I will be in LS nirvana.

PS This is my first Lexus. Coming off an '02 Infiniti Q45 in near-perfect running order.

Thanks in advance

I didn't understand your first request.

As to the second one, go for VAISTech. I have the MML model and been happily using it for about 3 years. It charges my phone, plays my music lib, gives music info out on the touch screen, lets me move around my music library.

You can also add an HDD where you can store your music. All that cost me $250 in parts and $50 in labor. I bet a feature upgrade in later LS460 models costs more than $300.

I think you answered his first question with your post. His "nanny" comment was in regards to wanting to lose the lockout in the nav screen when driving.

I am seriously considering the VAIStech system (the full package unit that allows browsing, text etc from the nav screen), but also will probably get the module from Prestigious Society that allows to use the nav screen while driving.

Also, to clarify....does the Vaistech allow you to use the stock functionality of the nav screen WHILE driving as well, therby eliminating the need for the PS module?

Nope. It only provides multimedia functionality AFAIK. Then again, mine came out in 2010 so things could have changed since then.

One important note: the system hasn't been working very well since iOS 7 came out. No text on the screen, it plays music automatically if I connect my phone even when I have an active phone call, and a few other annoying little things.

I'll update the firmware and see how it goes.

I will be getting the Android version. However, I'm not sure if my Samsung (the Note 3), is supported.

Thanks for the welcome. Time is crawling to a stand-still as I await my chariot tomorrow. And that's for the heads-on the FAQs.

Sounds like you found a diamond in the cave. Where did you find this car with such low miles? Is it Lexus CPO?

Yep.

Phone dialling, phonebook, personalized settings, etc. Its annoying, but the PS system mentioned above over rides all that.
