Default Interested in becoming a Lexus Owner

Hello

Interested in Purchasing a 2008 LS 460 AWD with 67000 miles. Previous BMW owner for many years. Trying to come up to speed on Lexus. A little nervous about the high mileage, however the car is clean an appears to be well maintained. The Carfax had limited information however, I went onto the Lexus website and obtained the history. The only thing that stood out was the Tech noticed the front upper control arms cracked, R ( I am assuming that R =it was repaired). Should I be concerned about the mileage? I think I would like to keep the car for a while. Any insight is appreciated!

Last week I purchased a certified preowned 2011 LS and I can tell you it is a fantastic car. I came from owning all domestic brands, most recently Lincoln, and the difference in quality is very evident.

I have seen posts here about the control arm problem being expensive to fix, but I have no details. I am sure others will chime in with info.

@blacktye; I can understand your concerns with the mileage but 67k on a 2008 is really great mileage being that the car is only 5 years old that roughly put you at about 13.5k miles per year ,so I wouldn't shy away from it due to the miles (that car is just getting warmed up). For as the control arm part by having the service history readily available to you I would ask the dealer (I'm assuming that you are buying it from a Lexus dealer) to pull that particular service record and review the notes to ensure that the repair to the control arm was made or any other records of concern. In addition, I would suggestion purchasing an extended or third party warranty just in case of the unexpected. To help ease your mind a little about the mileage, I purchased my 2008 LS600hL with 94k miles on it and so far so good no issues have come up (runs like a sewing machine). The previous owner had the car service every 5k miles at the same Lexus dealership of original purchase, so saying that the LS is pretty much bullet proof as long as they are being serviced properly. Best of luck on your purchase or search and i hope this helps.
