Default 2010 LS460 - Thinking about purchase

I'm thinking of getting a 2010 CPO LS460. I looked at one with 51k miles and the ML sound system along with the rear seat package. Is $37k a good price? Is 51k mile too much?

Also can anyone with the rear seat package comment on if its a worthwhile package?

On your mileage question, I would say that 51,000 miles is not a problem. I bought my 2001 LS 430 from its original owner, an 82-year-old retired accountant, at 50,000 miles, and it's been a wonderful car for another 60,000 miles.

I'll start shopping next year for a late-model 460, either a 2011 or a 2012, and I'd love to find a pampered car with 50,000 miles on it.

I have the rear seat package and think so, it adds more features for passengers or youself if someone else is driving. The only thing if you have the rear A/C you loose some trunk space, but not a big deal for me.

51,000 miles is nothing on these cars.

As far as the price, input all the info on Edmunds, KBB and NADA and see what they say.

The mileage & price seem fine for a CPO but it always varies depending on where you live.
I just bought a 2010 LS non-CPO, w/ML, w/46k in So Cal for $36k (+10% sales tax). It was from a Jag dealer but had what I wanted - 1 owner, local & dealer service. I found the CPO to be about $3k on the price but you don't have a choice when it's over 50k miles. Not that there should be a problem but you never know. It's always "buyer beware" and I felt better have enough left on the original warranty to cover the initial ownership.
Some dealers make a big deal over the ML, being a $3k option. Personally I don't see it being worth much.
I suggest you see how many owners it had and look at the service record. I don't think an owner would take as good a care of a leased vehicle as he would if he bought it. Be careful if they won't show you any Lexus service records.
I didn't get the RSP since it was an option I'd never use and it wasn't worth giving up the 3rd seating spot in the back.
good luck,

As another data point, exactly 1 year ago I purchased an almost identical car to yours, 2010 LS460 CPO with 47k miles, ML, and the rear seat package. I paid $42K for it, and this was in southern California, So I would say that $37K is a reasonable price now, but perhaps you can do slightly better as the 2011s are coming off lease.

I didn't really search out for a car with the rear seat package, it just happened to have it. The only people that ever sit in the back seat are my kids, who think the massage chair is a lot of fun.

Keep in mind that you can register any lexus vehicle on the lexus website with the VIN and you'll be able to see all of the service history. Once you've read what you need, be sure to delete the car from the registry if you don't end up purchasing it.
