I'm taking my car in Friday for the actuator noise. It has progressively gotten worse. I checked out the service history on mylexus and saw it has already been replaced once.

I forgot to update this thread!!! Actuator bleeding stopped the clicking noise in my previous 2007 for three days and it came right back after paying $200. Dealer told me it may or may not work and I took the risk. I hope you have better luck but did not work for me. If you end up bleeding it anyways, please keep us posted.

Thanks. I have an extended warranty so it'll get fixed one way or the other. With that said if someone decides to not get the issue fixed will there be eventual brake problems or is this just a noise issue only?

I would suggest that you complain and let them figure it out. If you order actuator bleeding then they will charge you $200-$300 because this is not covered by warranty. Then do it again after they put another actuator. I have researched this extensively and it has no impact what so ever on brakes efficiency unless actuator go bad, you will know then with Christmas lights on the dash. Rather than that it is just this dreaded clicking noise. I lived with it for couple of years until I traded it in.

Dealership ordered the brake actuator and it should be Monday. All covered under the extended warranty. I was worried if they were going to say anything about my platinum vip cup kit, but all they said is they liked it.

Brake pedal feel has improved too. last 1000 miles the brake pad was "smushy" and had additional travel.

Default brake actuiator

I couldn't stand the sound anymore. It was like the kitchen sink with that dripping onto the pan effect. It will make you crazy. I had it done for $3000.00 at Lexus of Naperville, il. It's been heaven since then. I seriously wanted to trade car at first, but the 460 is my true love. Now. its like heaven.

i thought there was a tsib on the actuator? did it have a mileage limit on it?
yes- that's the sound my 460 makes-. the sound is close to the sound an ocean seal makes.
is that air in the actuator?

If you press the brake pedal all the way down and you hear a squeak or groan, or crunch etc when you let off the pedal, it's the actuator. You may have to try it a couple of times, mine was making the noise about every 6-8 time. You can try having the fluid bled but you may need to have a new actuator installed
