Default Changing Brake Fluid

A Lexus Dealer wants to charge me $200.00 to change the brake fluid. Something about disconnecting the ECU or it won't work correctly.
My local mechanic wants $40.00, but says disconnecting the ECU is not necessary.

Anyone ever heard of this?

Thanx for your feedback in advance.

Default Changing Brake Fluid

A local mechanic can not do it without screwing it up. Do a search and you will find out the problems people have encountered when having a local shop do it or for those who did it themselves.

If the dealer tell you that then tell your local mechanic unplug battery first and then perform the brake fluid replacement..
My local mechanic has a vacuum system that sucks all the brake fluid out very quick.. for $40 too..
