Default Paddle Shifter Addition

I did a search and didn't come up with anything…

If I purchase the paddles and wires from Sewell, can I just add them to my 2012 LS 460? My IS 350C has paddles and I miss them when I drive the LS

Lol..these paddle shifters are integrated and programmed into the ecu as well..the OP is much better off buying a model that has them already and to your point..he must think it is that easy but we all know better than that

Jeff, does Sewell sell these for the LS, or are they meant as replacement for vehicles that already have paddle shifters? I can't imagine that you could convert an LS to these, but as usual I could be wrong.

Answering my own question… The paddle shifters are wired in parallel with the switches in the center console.

What I don't know is how much of the wiring I'm going to have to make myself, it seems like there is not a separate wiring harness available from Lexus.

I have ordered all of the parts, I'll let you know how it goes.

As far as I can tell, there is no requirement for ECU upgrade the switch are in parallel with the switches on the console. See my previous post that contains the schematic diagram.

Looks like it is going to be that easy. I'll let you know about the wiring (or lack there of) when I get it working.

I honestly hope you prove us all wrong and kudos to you for tackling this job despite our lack of support! You would revolutionize our forum I know I would follow your footsteps to get paddle shifters. Best of luck on the install.

My schematic reading is rusty but from what I can see it should be as easy as tapping into it.

just shift with the shift lever in tip tronic/manual shift. The LS even has a short throw.

What about the back part of the steering wheel that accommodates the paddle shifter? Have you ordered the proper back with the cut outs for the hardware? I am very excited to see how this turns out!!!

What irritates me about the shifter on the console is that the up shift and down shift are reversed. It really should be flipped around. They make a harness to fix that though.
