So I took my car to get looked at because I have been having vibration issues. The first two places told me my front bearings were done and the last place I just went to says that my bushings are are torn. My question is with a torn bushing to do you have to replace the upper control arm, lower control arm, or both. Also what should I be looking at in installation price. He has quoted me 650 for labor with the bearing changes. Also how much should the control arms cost. I have a 2007 LS460

Numerous posts on control arms have been posted, use the search feature. Bottom line is you have to replace the entire arm at $500 each (parts, not labor). Bushings in control arms are not replaceable without replacing the entire control arm..welcome to the cost of luxury!

I thought I seen bushings on ebay not sure if they work but .... like CJITTY said it is not a cheap solution.

The bushings are available from the aftermarket.

Are these bushings rubber like the OEM ones? The one I've seen avail aftermarket is polyurethane (Adus/Armstrong). While they will last way, way longer, it'll most likely result in a fairly harsh ride, especially if for a daily driver. The LS430 guys who swapped these in say it's pretty harsh

The question is if you stay stock a harsher ride will probably not be felt. But who knowes

BS. Ran the Daizen bushings in my GS which were pressed in by TM Engineering years ago. There was no harshness, the front end just became tighter and they never wore out. Did have to lube them a few times for squeeks. I pwouldn't hesitate to use them when mine go out. LS is already a soft ride, should only make it better.

Well, everything is relative... tight for one is harsh for another, and maybe a tad soft for someone else. In any case, that is what I read for some of the ls430 experiences.

Does Daizen have an application for our LS ?

True, for those who are ultra sensitive and like the soft plush ride may notice it. Last I checked Daizen did not have an application for LS460...if anyone knows who does offer them, please provide link.

On a side note, my 2010 LS460 had one side replaced at 30k according to previous service records....that ain't right. My GS went 100k and I had them replaced because of age, not because of failure.

Okay, thank yall. I did see the other threads. I took the the car to another mechanic and he told me my tires are messing with the car. Apparently theyve become deformed/unusable and its hurting the cars bearing and control arm. He told me to replace me tires first and then to see where the car is at. I think im gonna take his advice and work up from tires to bearing to control arm. Hopefully I dont have to do the control arm. After looking at it. It has a very slight tear...I dont really believe its causing issue. But i guess well find out soon enough! Thanks for the help guys

Anyone have experience with these? I think my driver side lower control arm bushings need to be replaced and i don't want to spend $400 from Sewelll for a pair of arms.

when the bushing goes the control arm goes too. I am so happy I had mine replaced under warranty. In the end it is the cost of driving a huge, heavy, and high end luxury car. I have had a GS as well and I will admit I have seen more suspension issues with the LS than I ever did with the GS . It has to be the weight. We have more blown struts and control arm issues than I ever saw on the GS forums

Definitely the weight of the car, and the fact that the original control arm design may not have been up to snuff. Hopefully the new OEM part #'s last much longer

I have the redesigned ones in my car right now but if there was an issue with them I think Lexus should cover the bushings and control arms for 100k. Its their fault not ours. Now anyone with an older Ls will need to watch out for the vibration, squeak, and/ 2k repair job
