I know it sounds foolish but I actually enjoy waxing/polishing my car. Its relaxing and I love sitting back and looking at the results. The car looks amazing. I am amazed at the durability of this coating, BUT it would look better and have a little less orange peel if polished and waxed. Not trying to be negative. Im just a detail freak. LOL I literally spray my cars down with Zaino Z8 every single day. I like the gloss and the smooth feeling when I rub my fingers against the paint

How long does it last ?? Any guarantee with it ?? Pretty cool stuff. First time Ive heard of it. Can you still polish and wax over it with no issue ??

Lifetime warranty. They recommend not polishing or waxing. This ceramic micro coating bonds to the paint at a molecular level, and it hardens as time goes by. Sun helps.

What amazes me every time is seeing the water vanish from the engine hood when I'm driving under rain. It's aircraft grade stuff, impressive.

Is it not recommended for older finishes? say 5 years old but still in very good shape

it's more about the prep work. to apply ceramic coating, because of its hardening nature, the surface has to be near "perfect" with no swirls and orange peel, so once it's applied, it will stay like that for a long time.

if there are scratches and swirls, the ceramic coatings will form a layer on top and "protect" the scratches, so it's there forever.

that's why for used car, one would need to spend a lot of time to really buff and polish out the paint to perfect condition and then apply the ceramic coating.

that's what happened to my nsx. when i got the car it was in pretty bad shape. my detailing guy did insane work to make it shine like a mirror again, and then he put on the ceramic coating

I am a believer as well. Not even after I wax my SC, it looks even that good. Mine requires a little more effort.
