I hit something with the passenger side mirror and the mirror was knocked out of the housing. My local auto guru was able to reassemble the mirror. It works fine as far as adjusting the mirror up-down left-right goes. However an automatic adjustment of the mirror initiated by shifting into reverse or changing driving position memory results in the mirror apparently trying to move and clicking about thirty times without moving.

Anybody have an idea what the problem might be?

Is the mirror in the neutral position when reassembled? If it was me..I would manually force the mirror glass around by hand. Maybe it was already at the max position and stuck..but what is weird is it moves with normal adjustment...sorta stumped

Maybe re-setting the memory for the seats and mirrors will restore correct movement.

Might also try moving the mirror(s) to all extended points (up, down, left, right) using the switch.

This should reset the centering memory.
