I have the 08 LS460 and still enjoying it after 4 years. I would like to update the Navigation system but never felt like paying the $200 to $250 to get the update disc installed. Is there another way to get this update without paying so much? I don't travel that much, but recently had a few glitches as highways have been updated and caused some issues. It seems like they (Lexus) would reduce the cost of this since so many people have the map feature on their smart phones.

You must go to the dealer for the update even if you buy a usb drive the maps online.
I had mine updated to 11.1 and I notice almost no difference in the maps. Seems like it takes four to five years between updates to notice a significant difference
It's just not worth the cost IMHO.
If I get lost, I just use my smart phone to get me back on track.

Exactly what jlawr said. The update is not worth it it does fine to get me where I want most of the time and I use my phone for the rest. You dont have a smart phone? Use the money to buy one instead of the update

Thanks for the tips on the update. And yes, I do have a smart phone. Just wanted to take advantage of the screen in front of me rather than the GPS on my phone. Sounds like I need to save my money rather than spend on the update.
