aftermarket blind spot monitoring system ????

Seems interesting. It would be nice to have. I think I'm going to look into some more.
Thanks for posting. I've never though about it but I guess technology has came a long way. Would be very useful on a trailer and truck for sure.

I believe if you set your mirrors correctly there should be no blind spots. The windshield mirror is for seeing out the back or the car. The side mirrors are for seeing in the blind spots on the side of the car.
While you're in the driver's seat, lean to the left so your head touches the left window. Move you left mirror out until you can just barely see your door handles in the mirror.
Then lean right so your head's over the center console and adjust your right mirror out so you can just barely see the door handles on the right side of the car.
Now, if you sit upright in a normal position the out side mirrors will eliminate all blind spots and you can use your windshield mirror to look behind you. You don't need you outside mirrors to see behind you.
I believe this is how to use the three mirrors on your car safely.
In a normal position you should NOT be able to see your door handles on either side of the car. If you can, they're pointed in too close to the car and will create blind spots.
It may take some time to get used to, but you'll drive a lot more safely.

A friend introduced me to how to set up the mirrors so there is no blind spot last year. It takes a couple of weeks to get used to, but once you do, you can never go back to the 'old' way.
You can view the details on how to adjust the mirrors so you don't have a blind spot here:

I agree wholeheartedly. With the mirrors placed properly there is absolutely no blind spot. You will always see the vehicle on your side in the rear view mirror before it disappears from the side view mirror.
I have been using this technique for years.

thanks...the mirror suggestions are good.
At most, I see the bsms as a redundant back-up...for when you might be distracted, and it happens to all of us.
