VSR - to do or not to do?
need some input ladies & gents
just bought my 2008 LS460 CPO a little over a month ago (I know, I know, I still owe some pics) and from the service records on the Lexus site it looks like the car did not have the Valve Spring Recall repair done yet and from the vin (JTHBL46F785064794 , manufactured 11/07) it should fall in the range of recalled vehicles.

Now the 2 questions:
1. Should I bother do it? (I've read pros and cons and I am a bit worried about the whole major surgery process)
2. Does Lexus still offer the $500 (is that dealer credit or cash?) for doing it?
It is rather strange my CPO has not had this done yet and was sold to me like that. AFAIK, they are supposed to perform all recalls before certifing a car.

The valve spring retrofit will apply to all 07 vehicles in the range of 75000193-75051857 and all 08s in the range 85051858-85083639. Yours seem to fall within that range.
I think you are basing your exclusion on the 9th digit which is a check digit.
