Default Wind noise

I have a 2007 LS I purchased a few months ago. Wind noise from windows is very loud. I applied the jmcraney fix this week - did it exactly as the directions say. Made no difference in wind noise - still get a bunch of wind noise through the windows. My LS has 70k miles so it is out of warranty. Any other suggestions as to what I should do?

Thanks

Default Wind noise

Did you take the car out on the highway for a thorough test drive before driving it! If you did and no wind noise was present then maybe the seals around the door are the problem or slim possibility doors are out of adjustment.

The car had the wind noise when I test drove it. I assumed it could be fixed with the mcraney solution. It did not work.

I don't know if your car had the windows replaced? Mine had the front windows replaced with double glass like what's on the LS 600.

Same here, my windows were replaced by double laminated ones under warranty and I have absolutely no wind noise. I didn't need the mcraney solution. My car is tomb quiet.

I bought an 09 CPO LS last month. How do you tell if windows are upgraded to the double laminated type?

Look on the front window glass. If you see the word lamisafe on it you have the laminated glass. If you see temperlite then it's single pane glass.

Mine say temperlite.

What is required to get windows replaced to upgrade?

Car is still under factory warranty.

Here is a link to a post from several years back that explains about the window retrofit: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/4137877-post443.html

was at my local dealer last month (08/2012), my SA said there still isn't a fix and extended warranties don't apply to wind noise.

Time for Jim McRaney's fix. He has a thread with very good instructions.
