I like the interior touches . I am assuming that wood finish on the interior is still available. It needs to look like a luxury car on the inside imho. The silver trim pieces are more sporty looking. I am a fan of the wood

The Shimamoku wood is.....
This wood process was originally done by hand in the Edo period of Japan. It is a long process to produce the steering wheel with over 60 steps. Make mine Shimamoku....

For what it's worth (and hopefully I won't get any hate for this!), my Jeep Grand Cherokee had this feature in the trip odometer (not the main one, but the one on the overhead information center) 13 years ago. The numbers were dotted, but they did scroll, and I always thought that was cool. It's interesting how there are always car features that the domestics offer sooner, and later they come out in improved form elsewhere.

It very cool, particularly given that the numbers are now solid.

the wood without the lacquer looks like ****. Looks way to Toyota. They need to keep it glossy and classy if they use wood. I am amazed that they are putting that cheap looking crap in their flagship.

Have you seen it in real life yet? Maybe it doesn't look like 'crap' before you jump to conclusions. Besides, pictures aren't anything to go by. And so far I've only seen 3 different wood treatments. The layered black Shimomoku, the matte finish, and the lighter colored wood. Doesn't the new GS have more than 3 options? I'm sure the LS will as well.
