I have seen it in the current Fsport , the new F sport, and in the the highlander. It looks cheap in my opinion. To each his own but I think its kind of funny to think they are going to change the classic look of a wood interior that has been used for decades by dozens of luxury manufacturers for this unfinished cheap looking stuff. To me a wood interior is to be glossy . I dont think you would ever see that kind of finish in a Rolls Royce. I am happy to see that they at least offer the different finishes for the buyers. My next LS will have the glossy finish

It's Lexus wood. This is engineered to hold up overtime.

See the little "L"s printed on the trim? It's an F SPORT exclusive.

No it's not. It's Battery St.

Yeah it's about time Lexus did something with their LED displays!

For what it's worth (and hopefully I won't get any hate for this!), my Jeep Grand Cherokee had this feature in the trip odometer (not the main one, but the one on the overhead information center) 13 years ago. The numbers were dotted, but they did scroll, and I always thought that was cool. It's interesting how there are always car features that the domestics offer sooner, and later they come out in improved form elsewhere.
Not exactly sure of the resolution used on the screen for the readout but it is an electronic lcd type and upclose it is pixelated.

Matte wood trim is available as part of the Designo package from Mercedes which is a special order interior customization package, so clearly there is a up market demand for it.

Have you seen it in real life yet? Maybe it doesn't look like 'crap' before you jump to conclusions. Besides, pictures aren't anything to go by. And so far I've only seen 3 different wood treatments. The layered black Shimomoku, the matte finish, and the lighter colored wood. Doesn't the new GS have more than 3 options? I'm sure the LS will as well.
dont forget bamboo!

Would be cool. I honestly believe the next generation LS600hL flagship will blow everyone away and have full-on OLED transparent displays ala the LF-LC concept and have the amazing design direction of that concept's interior.

Confimed. OLED display for the HVAC temp readout and TFT for the center part of the Speedo cluster.
