Center console cover removal
I just received my new leather center console cover to replace the worn out one on my car and I can't figure out how to remove the current one. There seems to be four screws holding the cover on to the metal pull out piece that it is attached to. I was able to take three of them out but there is a fourth that I cannot get to since it is way underneath toward the middle of the cover and it is covered up. Has anyone ever taken this off? I did a search and didn't find an answer. It seems like it would be easy but it isn't.

Lextrician - I don't want to remove the whole console, just the leather cover over the storage compartment. I did a search and could only find detailed instructions on the LS430.
acnup00tl - I paid $295 for the part from Sewell Lexus with the clublexus discount.

I have the 600 one and I actually bought a 460 one like my previous car. I like the leather on the 460 one better and the 600 one doesn't seem any thicker since mine is worn pretty good. My old 460 had more miles and held up much better.

Called the dealer today and they are going to do it for $60, sounds reasonable to me. Before the tech even gave the service advisor a price, he said it was a pain in the a$$ so I will leave it up to them to fool with it.

This was specific to my 2009 LS460 with cashmere interior. They asked for my VIN to get the correct part number since it is different than the part number for my LS600hL which is what I am replacing. You should email them for a quote and give them your VIN for the correct color and leather type.

Based on the diagram above and what you are saying (as well as the diagram on Sewell Lexus' website), I need to take off the rear a/c vent surround piece to get to the screws you are talking about. Is there an easy way to take this off? My vent surround piece is wood so I don't want to damage it.

Big thanks to Lextrician! After looking at the diagram on Sewell's site and the tip above about prying off the back trim piece (the whole back part is one piece), I noticed the four screws right there and two green wheels holding the top cover on. I took these off and out came the cover. From there it was a 10 minute job of just switching the metal track and popping off the front latch mechanism. Saved me a trip to the dealer and $60! Unfortunately I didn't take any pics but hopefully this thread will help anyone else looking to do this in the future.
