Default Bad actuator and brakes

I mentioned in the lurching thread that my actuator is being replaced, but I'm curious if a bad actuator can do damage to the rotors in excess of normal wear and tear.

If so, how likely would you say arguing that with service would be?

How can the actuator make the car lurch forward? That seems crazy to me

I'm not saying that the actuator is causing lurching, but it's kicking in when it shouldn't. What they're unsure of is whether the lurching types of stops is being caused by the brakes our transmission. First step is actuator replacement, then see on the rest.

Can there be excessive rotor wear though with actuator issues?

I may be wrong but isn't the parking brake inside the hub of the rear rotors like most newer cars? Actually miniature brake pad shoes that press against the edges of the inside hub.

What does that have to do with my question about rotor wear? (not attacking...just not sure of the point)

I honestly never even looked at the rear axle as I figured that hubs were a thing of the past on passenger cars......strange that they still exist.
