Smile My new LS with a Segway Carrier installed

Thought there might be some folks interested in how my receiver install turned out.

Bob one of the owners of A&B Trailer Hitch said it was the hardest install he had ever done!

They mounted the 7 pin connector flush with the underside of the car on the right side.

The lift can carry two segways at a time if need be. I use my Segway as a mobility device so I'm hoping the mobility rebate offered by Lexus will help defray some of the cost of the install.

Wow, that is for sure a first for me. I remember an episode of West Coast Customs when they did a Bentley with a Segway carrier in the trunk. The unit actually took the segway in and out of the trunk.

I see your Segway is real close to color as the LS. Maybe some matching wheels for both and you'll be good to go.

Good luck with the parking spots, that looks to be 20ft long.

Nice thing about Handicap spots, they are made for Vans. I traded in my F-150 king ranch on the Lexus that was LONG!

Default Seat for Segway..

The seats are made by a company in Texas. It's called a SegSaddle. There are lots of people using them to get around after various mishaps or illnesses.

I contribute to an organization that gives Segways to Service men/women that have lost limbs in the war. Check out Segs4Vets.

In the future I think you are going to see more and more people using the segway to get around, it's much nicer than my wheelchair!

What brand of hitch is that? I have no interest in the lift, but a class 2 hitch would be great for attaching my bike carrier to it. I do not like the ones that mount on the trunk lid or the ones that attach to the top of the vehicle like a ski rack.

It's a custom built hitch by A&G Trailer Hitch in Redwood City CA (650) 368-2125. 1-1/4 Inch receiver.

I don't feel any difference in handling. I have the air suspension, that probably helps. After I get the segways loaded, it's kinda fun to watch the compressor kick in and watch the rear end raise up.
