How much is brake service??
I need to change out my brakes (must likely the front ones). They are squeeling and whenever I apply my brakes, the steering wheel wobbles (I think I need to machine the rotors to solve this issue).
My questions are:
1) How much will brake service cost at the dealer?
2) Or can I go to Brake Check or something like that to get it fixed?
Please let me know your experience!
Thanks in advance.

I was quoted $399.99 from my local dealer. I ordered new pads from Akebono brakes for $54.00 shipped and put them on myself. If you have any mechanical ability then you can do it. I did not change rotors because they were fine. If you want to order pads there is a link in another thread. The pads are much better than the oem pads.

Did mines as well, front and back for under 150 bucks with ceramics. The install is pretty straight forward. Its actually the easiest install I've ever done. Im sure any shop around will handle that tast though. My dealer wanted 1050.

If you're gonna consider doing the work yourself ......
Please check out my thread on where to purchase the HIGHEST QUALITY brake pads you can buy ! AKEBONO Ceramic Pads. It explains why you want them, as well as the lowest price location we have discovered in the U.S. to purchase them. Here's the link:

Many, most mechanics are happy to install the pads YOU choose and supply. All ya gotta do is ask first.
And please trust us ..... There IS a "difference" in all ceramic brake pads.
We hope this helps you and as always, Good Luck and Success to you !
PS - I have no connection whatsoever with AKEBONO, nor the Place For Brakes, and do not receive any form of compensation for this suggestion.

Thanks for the heads up fellas...appreciate the responses.
Mechanically, I can do the job myself but I just don't have the time with 3 kids. I might consider buying the ceramics and having someone install for me. I think I need someone to machine my rotors too.
Again, thanks for the input.

You need to check out brakeperformance.com for an absolutely amazing product they have.
It's been almost a year since I installed mine. Zero black dust. Zero maintenance. Zero braking noise. I got them for like ~$500.
I got the premium rotors with ceramic pads (posi). You won't regret it.
