i thought the offset for those were a little aggressive for the ls in the rear.. would be a good look i
like the 21 was even looking for 20 inch stockers so i could get rid of the stock lexus 18's.

I believe specs are the following:
BMW Style 128 21 inch:
Staggered Fitment. Front: 21x9 +22mm offset Rear: 21x10 +25mm offset . Lug pattern 5x120.
front tire usually: 255/35/21 rear tire usually: 295/30/21
Would this be doable with a small drop?

i think these will be a bit aggressive and you'll have a bit of rubbing, but a roll or shave of the rear fenders will solve it. you also might want to consider running a slightly smaller tire setup -- the regular size for 21" optional bmw wheels are usually 245/35 and 285/30, if i'm not mistaken. you can get those sizes in hankook's v12 evo and michelin's pilot sport (off the top of my head, there are a few other options for tires in that size)

The seller wouldn't let me take them to a shop to have them road force balanced after I saw some welds done on one of them due to a bend repair. So I just backed out of it since I didn't want to risk being stuck with problematic rims.

21" tires are stupid expensive. You'll get the same exact tire in a 22 for much cheaper because of all the 22" options. You're upfront cost may be cheaper for the wheels but the tires will rape your butt. My suggestion would be to find a nice set of 22s you like and run a decent set of tires. The cost will be less spread out over the years. I had issues back when i ran 19s on my supra. tires were more than double than a similar tire size in a 18"

hankook v12 evos in 245/35/21 and 285/30/21 are less than $200 a tire...

But what's the point? I don't understand the never ending quest for trying to find/purchase a 21 inch rim for this car. Just get 22s! Good god, it doesn't change the ride that much. If people are that concerned, just keep factory rims.

21" wheels and tires are just as easy to find as 22" wheels and tires... not sure where this bias against 21s is coming from. i also think 22" wheels are too large for the car unless you're rocking a large, low aerokit

It's just weird. Seems to take more effort and this car is really too big for something less. I don't get the too large thing. Okay, lets analyze this. How old are you and what do you think about mods in general?

*shrugs* i think 21"s are perfect for this car -- look at all the japanese demo cars that have been posted in the 4LS modification thread. most of them are running 21"s, including the mode parfume and aimgain demo cars.

21"s also don't take any more effort at all. the tires are readily available, the LS takes the same 21" tire size as the BMW optional OEM 21" (and alpina) wheels, and wheels are easily found in 21". i'd wager 22"s take more effort because of load rating issues -- my 600h is simply too heavy for a 255/30/22 with a load rating of 95, which is one of the reasons i'm selling my 22" rinspeeds and looking at 21" wheels. keep in mind the original load rating on the oem michelin 18" tires is 97.

and just curious, what does age have to do with it? i'm 25, btw.

Well, speaking from personal experience, the point is personal preference. I prefer a little more meat on my tire. I currently own a set of 22s and my next set of wheels currently being built is a set of 21s.

Was it more difficult to source tires? Nope.

Will I regret stepping down from 22 to 21s? Absolutely not.

Speaking of 21 inch wheels, I have a set of Wald Mahoras Brand New In the Box!!! I'm trying to sell, if anyone is interested.... Just my 2 cents...
