Default Full Face 20-22 inch wheel options thread for LS460

Ok folks, looking into some wheel options again and kinda diggin' some of the full face wheels that are out there. Call me crazy, but I wish they made the oem 19" 5 spoke touring wheel in a 20 or 21 inch size for our cars, but no luck there. Perhaps the new gen LS will have a 20/21" option, who knows.

After seeing the 21" BMW 7 series wheel a few times in person sitting still and in motion, the wheel looks so very nice and I think a similar style would compliment the LS nicely. I would love to have a wheel like this but I believe the BMW wheel has a 21mm offset and will stick out of our fenders a little. I know the back of wheel hubs can be "shaved" down to achieve a higher offset, but that is risky depending on how much material is left.

I was hoping folks could post up some full face wheels they think would look nice on an LS460. I'll start off with a few..

Here are the BMW 7 series 21" wheel, nice full face with concave

Other full face options.

Vossen CV1 of course

The new Vossen wheels coming out have some potential winners too...

Hmm, nothing you posted above, seems like a full-faced wheel. A full-faced wheel (from my understanding) is something like this:

I think what you're looking for are larger spoke wheels? Maybe any of these?

Good point, I think the term "full face" could be confusing since I have heard that term referenced differently.

When I say full face, I mean more of a "lip-less" wheel where the spokes go to the edge of wheel, not necessarily more wheel material in between.

I love the new Vossen CV5. I think if I replaced the wheels on my car those would be the next wheels

When you said "Full Face" I thought no lip. I was actually eyeing the 21" from the beemer to use as a spare set my oems are lacking looks and the all black Forgiatos can look too "gangster" lol. Those 21" if you get the original BMW are made by Borbet. The offsets seem nice without a drop all you need is hubrings. I really like the look of a full face 5 spoke sometimes. Theres always the Walds which are another fav.

Yup..i am on a tanabe drop and my 20s with 31 offset are pretty close to fender, esp in rear. The 22 offset is wayyy to much. The hub shaving is an option to look into. I had Zenetti Five wheels on my Acura but they were manufactured with a 40mm offset but they shaved 7mm off for a 47mm offset result. I believe the 745 wheels have a 72mm hub bore to our 60.1mm. Some hub rings and a 30mm offset, some Lexus center caps and we would be in business

one thing to keep in mind when shopping BMW wheels is the hub bore is different. IIRC the LS460 has a 60.1mm hub bore and BMW's are typically 72.56mm so hubcentric rings will be necessary.

be very cautious when you do that, because you lose brake clearance. our LS calipers are extraordinarily wide (maybe even wider than BBKs for some cars) so after shaving down the hub the spokes may not clear your caliper. do some measuring before you consider this route :P

As I'd stated before, Im not a fan of the 5 spoke wheels but those CV5s are sexy and Im really liking the CV4s. Will they come in a 22"? I know the CV3s only came up to 20.

I did read it, but wanted to add the exact bore measurements in case someone else was cross shopping between oem wheel manufacturers outside of BMW (i.e. range rover, etc)

All this info is very good and extremely important. For those of us who have installed wheels on our car and previous cars, you realize how important this stuff is. I can tell when folks don't have the right offset on their cars without doing any research..or what is worse, i recently saw a busted down looking 7 series and an old school TSi Conquest with the staggered wider wheels mounted on front!!!..fail!!!!!
