Might buy an LS!!! Question about VIN sticker and typical is this a good deal or walk

Basically a 2007 LS 460 w/ 16900 miles. Great condition and drives like a dream. No lit or service history provided. Body looks great save for some faint scratches is the clear coat which look to be from a bad car wash.
Can't seem to find a VIN sticker on the trunk lid. Should there be one? If so where?
What do think this car should go for? Salesman says they have 37k in the car. Dealership wants a $690 dealer fee for the privelage of buying the car from them.
Thanks for your help and advice. Great board here!

Thanks for the reply. Saw the carfax it's clean. Unfortunately, I have learned the hard way that a clean carfax does not ensure an accident free history. Local Lexus dealer has several 07 LS's Certified with over 40000 mile starting at $43k.

Welcome 1st of all and great decision on going with the LS carfax is usually legit BUT some things can not be determined if there was no report on the vehicle. I would take it to a independent vehicle inspector to see if there is anything going on with the car. The miles on that car are low too which is a great find. Hope this helps a bit

If you are asking for an opinion, I would not buy 07 LS without a certified warranty. There are small known issues like the dreaded brake valve actuator that could cost you $2,500 to replace if it was to fail. Just one example. I would continue to look unless you are so in love with the color that you must have it. Remember LS is expensive to maintain should anything go wrong.

I recently bought 2007 LS 460 L with $33K miles same color combination as yours for $40K at the local Mercedes dealer in Washington DC area. My car had lot of options and I really liked the color combination. I have later learned that some of the issues these cars have been fixed by previous owner.
I did get an Platinum extended warranty from Lexus and very happy with my car. Ask for VIN number and go a lexus service center or lexus service website and see what work as been performed. Also find out when is the In-Service date of the car to see if your can qualify for extender warranty.
