Buying advice needed! 2008 LS 460
Hey guys, I'm considering trading in my '11 IS 250 for a used 2008 LS 460. i have many questions to ask, and the first is it woth it? Before anyone ask me why I got a new IS and now want a used LS, it is simply because I didn't know that I can afford it, so I never looked for one. Now that I'm working and out of college, I want something nice.
Also, the LS has 55k, CPO, ML system, for $37k. Is this a good price? Does anyone know how good the 2008 ML system is compared to the 2011 standard system on the IS? I'm test driving this car tomorrow but it would be nice to know what to expect.
Lastly, what are the things I should look for? I have done forum searches, so don't blast me! Thanks in advance for the help.
Also, on Carfax it is listed as a commercial vehicle, should I be worried?

the reference ML system on the LS will blow away standard system on the IS. it's not even close. even ML system on the IS is still quite some distance from the LS. that's why it's labeled as "reference system" on the LS.
price wise i think it's ok? maybe a bit on the high side imho, probably knock a few grands. problems, i think some are affected by the valve spring recall so make sure that's done. also drive it on freeway and see if there is any wind noise problems
otherwise, solid car

Since you already own a Lexus, you can go to the Lexus Drivers website (for owners) and enter the vin # to check out the vehicle's service history. http://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexu...-lexus/home.do

Checking The SERVICE HISTORY on any Lexus vehicle
You as an owner - or simply as an interested party - may determine the Lexus' "dealer" service history on any Lexus vehicle. All you need do is two (2) things:
a) To go to THIS website ............
http://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexu...-lexus/home.do
and REGISTER.
then
b) Enter a valid Lexus VIN number.
Please keep in mind this will tell you the date and nature of EACH and every service that was performed on a Lexus' vehicle - excluding any work performed in a non-Lexus location. This also includes any body work as well.
This really valuable took is available to anyone, and is extremely important when someone is considering purchasing a pre-owned Lexus.
Good luck in your 'hunt."

55k for $37 seems OK but you can't get a warranty with that. They will beat you over the head if it has 50k+...your better off paying 1,000-2,000 more for one with less than 50k. Here is a 08 LS that seems to be in your budget and has less than 50k: http://www.globalautosports.com/car/...dan-36614.html
